Which country is cleaner and tidier, Japan or Singapore?
Which country, Japan or Singapore, maintains a higher level of cleanliness and tidiness?
Singapore upholds its cleanliness through the employment of cleaners and the establishment of Town Councils.
These councils have set Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for maintaining the cleanliness of housing estates and their surroundings. However, during visits to pasar malams or food bazars, it's evident that people often leave food containers and empty plastic cups scattered around. Even some youngsters gather and abandon their trash.
On the other hand, Japan presents an entirely different level of cleanliness. Cleanliness is deeply ingrained in the culture, and citizens take responsibility for their trash. The photo below, taken from a specific website, attests to this fact. I personally witnessed this commitment to cleanliness during my own experience.
